Non-professional event photographers simply show up and snap a few shots. True professionals can tell a cohesive story from the evening. Event photography doesn’t just mean cold corporate photography. Emotions are involved in almost all events. Capturing that emotion and telling a story of the entire event is vitally important. It’s more than just marketing material for the future. It tells the story of who you truly are as a company, family, and group of friends at that moment in time. 5 Ways Photography Tells a StoryCapture the HighlightsFirst and foremost, we make sure to capture the biggest, most important parts of your event. We would never miss the ribbon cutting, the handshake, the toast, or the keynote speaker. Those are givens. But not only will we capture them, our team is experienced in catching the perfect moment, perfect expression, and perfect lighting without anyone even knowing we’re there. Capture the DetailsTo get the full story, the details matter. Just as a novelist builds in character development and setting details, we capture the guests’ emotions as they mix, mingle, network, and learn. We look for those moments where someone bursts out in laughter or a surprised expression as someone learns something new. We also focus on the details that make up the ambience of your event—venue layout, décor, lighting, even the landscape of an outdoor event. Multiple PhotographersOne person can only capture so much at a time. To make sure you get the full story, we bring a team of experts to make sure you don’t miss a moment, even at the largest events. Multiple AnglesInstead of shooting everything from eye-level, we also make sure to get photos from the ground looking up and even aerial views. We strive to capture the depth and scope of your event from all angles! Series ShotsPosed portraits are great, and there’s a time and place for those, but telling a story fully requires some in-the-moment, candid shots. We shoot unposed photos in a series while the action takes place so that you can visualize how it all happened. We want viewers to see the story happening frame-by-frame. Our years of experience have taught us when to get those powerful single shots or when to take moving series images.

For a more reflective event venue, the United States Institute of Peace certainly makes a statement and evokes a compelling sense of unity. Located on the prime northwest corner of the National Mall, the building is surrounded by our nation’s most iconic monuments. Check out the inspiring Peace Trail on the National Mall. “Elevating stories of key figures, institutions, and moments in history that demonstrate America’s enduring commitment to peace”. It winds its way up to the recently constructed (2011) Institute of Peace. Spreading the Promotion of PeaceThe institute was independently founded in 1984 by Congress as a way to promote peace and prevent violent conflict. They have pursued this vision since by “working with local partners to prevent conflicts from turning to bloodshed and to end it when they do. The Institute provides training, analysis, and other resources to people, organizations, and governments working to build peace.” The Peace Institute holds its own thought-provoking events for the public to attend. Such as the “Resilience in Conflict” forum, VOA documentary screenings, and panel discussions. But it’s also available for hosting private events. The Institute offers seven event spaces ranging from a Great Hall, to an Auditorium, and even a Rooftop Terrace. They’re more-than equipped for hosting unforgettable “receptions, seated dinners, film screenings, meetings and conferences.” Plus, they offer in-house catering, valet parking, and phenomenal audiovisual technologies. Don’t forget, when you choose this venue, it serves as an investment by helping the institute carry out its altruistic mission and values! They would certainly have something to fit your vibe and vision. A Venue with Plenty to OfferAfter checking out some reviews on good ol’ Yelp, we found that Anthem really has thought of everything. One local reviewer wrote, “Multiple bars, bathrooms, coat check, and even a coffee cart by local favorite Vigilante Coffee.” -Kimi S., Washington, DC As the neighborhood’s cultural center, it features an acoustically advanced concert hall to host marquee performances by internationally celebrated artists as well as intimate shows with local favorites. The Anthem also serves as a unique convention facility and event venue set against DC’s magnificent waterfront. They’re unique because the stage and backdrop are movable, making it even more versatile. It offers some of the best viewing experiences you can find due do up-close-and-personal balconies that make guests sitting in higher levels feel nearer to the action. It also has plenty of standing room, perfect for large conventions. The Anthem will have a variable capacity anywhere from 2,500 to a maximum of 6,000. After the event, guests can stroll around the wharf, surrounded by waterside ambience for extra mingling (and networking)!
